Outlined below is the 2009 competition schedule. Please see "Rules" for further information.
March 2 (4 p.m. latest)
Two-page business plan summary AND a one-page summary of financials (three pages total) due at BDCC by 4 p.m. (Six copies of each.)March 9
Announcement of finalists in each category.April 20 (4 p.m. latest)
Final business plans due at BDCC by 4 p.m. (Six copies of each.)April 30
Final presentations between 9 a.m. and noon, with winners announced at 3 p.m. (Location: Marlboro College Tech Center, 28 Vernon Street, Brattleboro.)
"I would definitely encourage everyone who is serious about starting or expanding a business to apply to the competition. I found having to talk to the judges and answer pointed questions to be the most valuable aspect. We used the money we won as valuable seed money to pay the architect and further our vision. Winning has also given us validity with the town of Brattleboro. We will forever be indebted to the BDCC for believing in our dream of Fulcrum Arts and hope to make all involved proud when we see our project come to fruition."
